Met-Con partners with contractors, facility owners, developers, and industrial operations teams to successfully execute projects with precision, safety, and schedule focused performance.

Project 286 – AHTS Whiting Field

Customer: Walsh

Description: Fabrication and erection of structural steel for a large-bay aircraft maintenance hangar designed to service up to 37 helicopters simultaneously while accommodating three pilot training squadrons.

The facility required long-clear-span, high-bay structural framing to support maintenance operations, aircraft circulation, and mission-critical training functions. Constructed as a MILCON project on an active U.S. Navy installation, the work demanded strict adherence to federal quality standards, security protocols, and DX-rated government procurement requirements.

The project highlights Met-Con’s expertise in delivering complex structural steel solutions for large-scale defense and aviation facilities while successfully operating within the demanding environment of active military installations.
