Gateway to Space

Customer: Ivey’s Construction

Description: Fabrication and erection of 870 tons of structural steel for Gateway: The Deep Space Launch Complex, a 54,000-square-foot, multi-level attraction at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. The high-bay structure was specifically engineered to showcase some of the aerospace industry’s most significant artifacts, including a space-flown Orion crew vehicle and a suspended Falcon 9 booster.

The project required precise structural design, fabrication, and erection to accommodate unique exhibit loads while creating an immersive visitor experience. Recognized for its quality and execution, the project earned an ABC Excellence in Construction Eagle Award in 2022 and achieved LEED Silver certification, underscoring its excellence in both construction and sustainable design.
