Constellation Crew Launch Vehicle Mobile Launcher

Customer: Hensel Phelps Construction Company; NASA

Description: Detailing, fabrication, coating, and erection of more than 1,700 tons of structural steel forming the base of the new Constellation Ares I Mobile Launcher at Kennedy Space Center for NASA’s Constellation Program.

The project required execution to exceptionally demanding tolerances and under an aggressive construction schedule to support critical launch infrastructure development. From precision detailing through final erection, the work showcased advanced structural steel capabilities, rigorous quality control, and the ability to deliver complex aerospace-related construction in one of the nation’s most technically challenging environments.
